Action Groups Update - January 2025

Transport and Active Travel Action Group

Recent Meeting with NCC and Berwick Town Council about Bus Engagement. Making progress on buses slowly.

All invited to complete consultation on NECA Mayor’s Transport Plan:

Action:

  • Engagement has taken place with NCC Cycle Campaign

  • In addition to Cycle and Bus Transport, the Group has had interaction with two Rail Action Groups, SENRAG and RAGES. These groups require a £10 membership fee to join. Agreed that although a project cost, we would provide one-off support for this small amount

Algae monitoring continues. A useful Group meeting was held early January. Starting to monitor Nitrates is a possibility. The Group continues to request feedback from the Environment Agency via Freedom of Information requests and have requested feedback from them on 2024 algae monitoring results. One group member is looking into the possibility of regular monitoring of combined sewer outfalls.
